ALROOTY.

So I've given myself an extremely odd and possibly blasphemous cut-off time this year due to my terrible double-shift like schedule with work and whatnot (I'm frequently tied up with work during regular day hours, then come home to crash for rest/sleep and get up for day 2.0 of that same day to tackle side work), which I'm definitely taking advantage of for day 1. I put my due time at 9am, so for example: my February 1st cut-off is 9am the next morning.

Not looking to tackle anything huge this year sadly, just want to desperately get back into frequently drawing and going to focus on basics and studies.

Your rhythm is just insane. I aspire to have as smooth a flow as you do with your lines and shapes. Also, the ability to draw girls is something I'm a little shakey at. I need to do some improving this month.

pahnts - I tend to approach drawing people and weighing in masculine/feminine balances, more-so than just drawing guys and gals. Maybe that'll help! Drawing the foundation of people is more important to me (interesting shapes, basic body structure, etc) and then just pushing it in different directions that read more masculine or feminine. Look at runway model's faces (I used one for the girl on the left). They tend to have really striking (and sometimes more masculine) features which read great from far away, probably something necessary on the runway if you're watching it live in an audience. Caricaturing is very important to me too. I dunno, just funny things I think about while drawing people

HA. I'm glad the weird little detail I consciously put it because it was funny and weird is getting the most appreciation.

oh shit, thank you for this well thought-out response. i really appreciate this. i've got a lot to think about now.

gah, another quick one for today. this week is really killing me outside here (almost literally yesterday when I nearly got run over by a truck). hopefully this weekend I'll be able to start something nicer or one of those After Effects tutorials I mentioned to some of the guys here.
